It was standing room only last night at the 15th Annual International Latino Book Awards sponsored by Latino Literacy Now and held at the Instituto Cervantes in New York City during BookExpo America. Actor Toni Plana was the Master of Ceremonies.

And, just so you don't think that only the women took home awards, Carlos Cisneros' THE LAND GRANT won for Best Mystery Novel, and Felix J. Palma's MAP OF THE SKY won for Best Fantasy/Sci-Fi Novel.
Honorable Mention: My friend Caridad Pineiro did not win for Best Romance Novel; she only got an "Honorable Mention." Actually, no one won in that category. Strange, I know.
