LASH is the first book in L.G. Castillo’s Broken Angel trilogy, one that will appeal to both romance and fantasy readers with its realistic characters, heightened sexual tension and action-packed scenes. This is a story about everlasting love, about losing faith, about family reunions, about obedience, about forgiveness, about second chances.

Book Summary: Even angels have to obey the rules. When Lash disobeys a direct order without considering the consequences, he is banished from heaven. For three decades, he wonders the earth in human form torn between wanting to go home and hating everyone for his predicament. Finally, he gets his chance for redemption. His new mission: to save Naomi Duran who has lost faith. But she is not just another assignment. It turns out they share a history, and that she has very powerful enemies. When Lash learns that his superiors, the Archangels, have withheld important information from him, his trust is shaken. He begins to doubt his old friends and himself. And, as if that weren’t bad enough, Lash’s growing feelings for Naomi are forbidden and highly erotic. They try to keep their feelings platonic but the attraction between them sizzles. They steal one night for themselves. Lash knows he has to give her up to regain heaven, or does he? Another party offers him his heart’s desire –Naomi at his side and a future together. Now, Lash must decide between fulfilling his mission and losing Naomi.

Castillo has created an original fantasy world, where angels, fallen angels and demons are very real, and where one wrong decision can have far-reaching repercussions. I really enjoyed reading this book, and was most impressed to learn that Castillo wrote it as part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in 2012. I can’t wait for book 2, AFTER THE FALL, this September. I am looking forward to seeing the female angels kick ass and the outcome of the upcoming battle between good and evil.###
