THROWBACK THURSDAY! THE COLLECTED POEMS OF OCTAVIO PAZ

2019 BOOKS OF THE YEAR !

   Lucky 7!    The Latina Book Club is proud to release its 7 th Annual Books of the Year List . This year’s Books of the Year have something for everyone and for every age -- fiction, young adult, historical novels, memoirs, children, horror, mystery, scifi, short stories, LGBTQ, poetry, graphic novels and more!   We are just sorry we couldn’t include every book by and for Latinos published this year. We are super excited to see that many of the books on our list are being published in Spanish, like Nina Moreno’ s Don’t Date Rosa Santos and Carolina De Robertis ’ Cantoras; and one – Elizabeth Acevedo’s With The Fire On High – may even become a movie.   Wepa! The Latina Book Club is a proud reviewer for Multicultural Children’s Book Day , which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year.  Below is our review of Anne Broyles new bilingual children’s book. # ReadYourWorld Pelican Publishing Company Translated by Maru Cortes ARTURO AND THE BEINVENIDO FEAST by Anne Broyles is a delightful, heart-warming bilingual children’s book about family, love and bienvenida / welcome.  In this new book, Arturo and his grandmother, Abue Rosa, are preparing a feast to welcome his aunt’s fiancé to the family. However, when Abue Rosa doesn’t feel well and must lay down, Arturo doesn’t want to disturb her and so he takes over the menu with delicious results.
